I’ve mentioned before that things just sort of ~happen~ to me at times. I don’t know why but I am a walking disaster. And when I tell people of the latest thing to happen, people laugh and go “that is such a YOU thing to happen”.
Okay TBF I do know why a lot of things happen to me… and that is because I find it very difficult to organise myself.
For work and important stuff, organisation is not a problem, I get to work on time every day, manage to do the stuff I need to do, but somehow everything else in my life doesn’t quite go to plan. And it’s because of this, most of my friends say, “I just don’t understand how you get from A to B.” The most recent example of this was when I was travelling all the way up to Leeds for a festival a couple of weeks ago. It all started when I forgot to book the night before off work resulting in me getting a grand total of 1.5 hours sleep before I had to leave my bed, and walk to the station at 5.30am. I then got there with just enough time to do my make up and get changed before getting on a bus with my friends to the site of the festival. It wasn’t until we got there that I realised I had forgotten to download/print off my ticket. And as everyone who’s ever gone to a festival will know, THERE IS NO SIGNAL IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIELD. This resulted in me walking half a mile and being basically run over by 5 or 6 coaches rallying festival goers, to try and get the tiniest bit of signal to open the email with the bloody ticket on. After about half an hour of walking and panicking and turning my phone off and on again, I got the signal I needed, got ticket and life was good again. But it seriously made me (and all my friends who were waiting for me and wanted to deck me at this point) question “why am I like this?”
Another example of a classic Amber situation happened a week or so before the festival incident when I drunkly got on the wrong bus to go home, got stranded in an unknown part of Brighton with a dead-battery phone and was convinced I was being chased by slenderman. Eventually after walking around for 2 HOURS, I made it to the 24 hour Asda where there was a taxi phone where I was able to call a cab and get home. It then became even more of an issue when i realised I had lost my purse that night and had to pay the poor cab driver in 20ps from my piggy bank. (Shout out to the nicest taxi driver in the world btw xxxxxx love u xxxx). I also cracked my phone that night. Oh yeah and it was the night before my graduation. Lol @ myself.
So the moral of the story is that I’m so unorganised you will probably read this and be like “wow I’m gonna go do my uni work/laundry/feed my cat so I don’t turn into an unorgnised mess like this girl.” And you’ll feel better. I’m doing everyone a public service really.
But I plan on being more organised in the future so watch this space. Now I’m gonna go dye my hair now because my life only works on impulsiveness.
So bye and thanks for reading about my stressful life xxxxxxxxx
P.S. if anyone wants to be my PA that would be great because I need one. It’s an unpaid role.
